We're not sure about how Nancy's relationship with Hiram ended. Most likely, he died sometime after 1860. In 1870, Nancy and the children were living in Camanche, Iowa. She and Cynthia were schoolteachers, Roxanna was at home, and Riley worked at a sawmill.
