On Joseph's Christening Record there is a hand-written note in the margin, stating the time and place of his marriage to Maude. The source of that note is unknown. The marriage took place at the Cathedral of St. Vibiana in Los Angeles.

He was registered in Rumford, Oxford County, Maine, but the Registration Record is in the Wisconsin Records. He gave his address at the time as being Iron River, Wisconsin.
