In 1900, Enoch and Alice were living on South Bass Island, on Lake Erie and off the northern shore of Ohio. He was a farm manager there. By 1920, he had married for the second time (whether Alice had died, or they were divorced, we don't know) and was living in Detroit with his new wife of only a year or so, Rose ???. He was working as a bookkeeper in a Detroit hotel. There were no children from either marriage.

It appears that Elva's parents (Lewis H. and Lizzie B. [Gerald] Hodges) were separated at the time of the 1880 Census. That year, we find Lewis living in Farmingdale (about 30-35 miles from Clinton), while Lizzie was living in Lewiston and working in a cotton mill (Microcopy T-9, Roll 475, Page 229B). Elva was living with the family of Retire and Emma Webber in Clinton (Microcopy T-9, Roll 481, Page 185D).
