Donald graduated from Norway High School in 1910, and from Bates College in 1914. For 3 years, he served as Principal of Canton (Maine) High School. In 1925, he opened a law office in Norway, while serving (from 1918-1929) as Oxford County Clerk of Courts. Donald served one term as a U.S. Congressman from Maine.
Donald and Geneva are buried in Norway Pine Grove Cemetery.
