Herbert was a farmer in Baltimore, Vermont. In 1920's Census of Springfield, Vermont, Alice indicates that she is a Widow. This would mean that Herbertdied between 1910- 1920. However, a Herbert F. Stevens, born in Vermont in 1864, is found living in Manchester, New Hampshire, divorced and woking in a cotton mill (Census: T625, Roll 1010, E.D. 94, Page 5A). Searches of both the 1870 and 1880 Censuses of Vermont fail to come up with more than one Herbert F. Stevens, born in 1864.
