Francis was a brickmason in Hillsborough, New Hampshire.
 He served in the Civil War, as a Private in Co. D, 16th New Hampshire Infantry. He enlisted 13 October 1862 and was mustered out 20 August 1863. This unit was activated for a nine-month term of service, most of which was spent in Louisiana. They took part in battles at Port Hudson in March and June of 1863, then returned to New Hampshire.

Albert was working at a woolen mill in Newport, New Hampshire in 1900. In later years, he was a millwright at a piano factory in Worcester (1920) and a farmworker in Princeton (1930), Massachusetts. They had moved from Lempster, New Hampshire to Worcester prior to 1918. Then, after 1930 and before 1942, moved to Claremont, New Hampshire, where he worked on a farm.

George and Phebe moved from Vermont to Elmira, Stark County, Illinois, before 1860. At first, he worked as a farmer. By 1870, he was a clerk in a grocery store, and continued at that trade for several years.
