The same occurs in the 1910 Census of Somerville, Massachusetts, where Levi and the Fay family are living. He states that he has been married for 10 years but, again, no wife is listed. Not until the 1920 Census of Washington, Vermont, does her name appear.

Stella was a schoolteacher for 34 years, retiring in 1957. Among the cities in which she taught were North Branford, Connecticut, in 1920, and Montclair, New Jersey, in 1930. She graduated from Columbia University with both B.S. and M.A. degrees.
 Stella gave many hours to the work of compiling the Clough lineage in Vermont.

They moved to Medford, Massachusetts before 1910, where they lived with Jennie's parents, Hiram and Mary Watkins. By that time, sister Mabel had joined them. Herbert worked there as a salesman for a drug store. In 1920, they lived in Arlington, Massachusetts. Herbert worked ina watch factory. Katherine was a commercial artist.
