From the 1930 Census, we learn that she and Earnest were divorced (sometime between 1920 and 1930). She was working in real estate sales (NARA Microcopy T626, Roll 138, E.D. 19-133, Page 30A, Dwelling 258, Family 253).

In 1920, living in Los Angeles, Earnest was a linesman's helper for the Light and Power Company. He ran afoul of the law sometime in the 1920's, because, in the 1930 Census, he was listed as an inmate at the Los Angeles County Prison Farm in Downey (NARA Microcopy T626, Roll 126, E.D. 19-924, Page 159B, line 89).
