"Cappy," who never married, worked at Tripp Lake Girls Camp and in the kitchen at Poland Community School until health problems forced her to retire. She was a Deaconess of the Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Mechanic Falls, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed planning cookouts for her family and church family at the lake. She also took great pleasure in helping others by providing transportation and being a support person.

Granville was a farmer in Londonderry, New Hampshire. He and Kate had no children.
 Granville served for only a few months during the Civil War, enlisting 14 February 1865 and being discharged 21 June 1865. He was a Private in Co. H, 18th New Hampshire Infantry. That unit saw action during March and April of 1865 at the battles of Fort Stedman, Virginia, and Petersburg, Virginia. The unit also served as Provost Guards in Washington during the trial of the persons involved in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
