Dr. Robertson graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, and the Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine in Philadephia. He was a veteran of World War II. Beginning in 1947, he practiced in the Ford City and Kittanning (Armstrong County) area of Pennsylvania, and was in charge of the Emergency Room of Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
He and Gloria had three children, Scott V., Carol Ann and Frances.

Dennis' birth name was Ignace Vachon, which he changed to Dennis Vashaw when he moved to the United States. Apparently, this was a common practice amongst French Canadian workers hoping to improve their chances of getting a job and keeping it.
He died in Saint Louis Hospital during the terrible influenza epidemic of 1918. About 20 others died of the same cause that same day in that hospital in Berlin, New Hampshire.

Alton operated a general store in Topsfield, Maine, into the 1920's. They left Maine and moved to Gardner, Worcester County, Massachusetts, where, in 1930, Alton and Elvira were working as Supervisors at the Gardner State Colony for Insane. The children were living in Gardner with the Percy Klickey family (T626, Roll 963, E.D. 14-189, Page 187B; E.D. 14-199, Page 76B).
