Ethel and George divorced in 1934 in Cumberland County (DIVORCE RECORDS, Maine State Archives Microfilm Roll 6, Vol. 22, Page 44).

 George worked for a few years as a chauffeur in Portland and, later, as a mechanic in Patten. He was killed when an automobile engine, under which he was working, fell on his chest.
