Herbert was a Medical Doctor in Bangor, practicing general medicine and surgery at Eastern Maine General Hospital for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Holy Cross College and, in 1914, Bowdoin Medical School. From 1922 to 1952 he was Penobscot County Medical Examiner. In 1964, he was presented with a 50-year service medal from the Penobscot County Medical Association.
Ethel was very involved in civic affairs of Bangor, as well. Among the organizations she was a part of were St. Mary's Solidarity Council, Eastern Maine General Hospital Auxiliary, and the American Association of University Women.

Anastasia was a public school teacher in Bangor until the children came.
She died in a tragic automobile accident on 11 September 1938. Frederick was badly injured. Three members of another family (Joseph and Hattie Pullman and their daughter, Doris) also died that day when, in a thick morning fog their cars slammed head-on into a passenger bus. In the newspaper article, she is remembered as a "woman of rare charm and grace [who] endeared herself to all who came in contact with her either in a social way or in a business manner."

Albert served in the U.S. Navy during World War I and World War II. He was commissioned a Navy Ensign in 1916. In 1917, he commanded a group of submarine chasers in England, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. He served in World War II in New Guinea as the commander of the Naval Base at Hollandia. He died at the Veterans' Hospital in Togus and is buried in the Durrell Hill Cemetery.
