Charles was a liquor salesman. Augusta was his second wife. In 1900, they were living next door to Augusta's brother, Simon, and his family in Cleveland, Wisconsin. Living with them were Charles' daughters from that previous marriage: Carrie, aged 28 and born in Wyoming; Willie, aged 15 (also born in Wyoming); Maggie, aged 13 and born in California; and Loring, aged 12 (also born in California). Apparently, another child was living elsewhere, since Augusta states that there were 5 children, and only 4 were there with them at the time.
